In July 2022, crude steel production in Africa was 1.2 million tons, down 5.4% year on year; Crude steel production in Asia and Oceania was 110.1 million tons, down 5.2% year on year; Crude steel production in the European Union (27) was 11.7 million tons, down 6.7% year on year; Other European countries produced 3.5 million tons of crude steel, down 16.5% year on year; Middle East crude steel production was 3.2 million tons, up 24.2% year on year; Crude steel production in North America was 9.6 million tons, down 5.4% year on year; Crude steel production in Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine was 6.4 million tons, down 29.1% year on year; Crude steel production in South America was 3.6 million tons, down 7.8 percent year on year.
